This would suggest that there's something more than just the Brown and White wires.ĭoes anyone have a wiring diagram of this motor? Perhaps a picture of it configured for 115V? Any suggestions on how to make it work on 115V? I attached a picture of the label. It seems like it's running on 115 but is expecting 230. It may turn over a few times but it's sluggish. It works fine on 230 and has for quite some time but I'd like to rewire for 115V. Basically, just move the Brown (P2) and White (T2) wires.

Also, on this web side, searching on the Mod number (above) there is a very good post on how to re-wire. Of course you need to change some wires around but there's a clear placard showing the steps. It can run on 115 or 230 (according to the label). The motor is a GE Mod 5KCR49SN2137X which also says MO-9045. I think it was from Sears perhaps 20 years ago. Our purpose is to provide information about vintage machinery that is generallyĭifficult to locate. For some reason the engineers at Craftsman thought it was a good idea to put an OPEN Fan Cooled Motor in a Table Saw hanging out the back, right in the path of a major dust storm. If you would like to see or discuss any of this then please send me an email at NOTE: was founded as a public service toĪmateur and professional woodworkers who enjoy using and/or restoring vintage machinery. The following pictures do not show the actual restoration steps, or the parts I had re-machined, or the steps in constructing the Biesemeyer type fence, or any details on beefing up the motor mount to take on the new 5hp motor 3-phase motor. I was able to identify what parts were missing (there were many), what parts were broken or not working and why, and I was able to repair them, make new ones, or have them machined to fit. I found the "Original Operating Instructions and Parts List" for this model saw which included all assembly drawing and blowups that detailed every part. The end results would not have been possible with out the information. SPECIAL NOTE: I would like to thank Old Wood Working Machines (OWWM) and the other members for the help that I found on this site in making this restoration. Modifications to support a 5hp motor, and a new precision fence have brought this old table saw back to even better operating condition with higher precision sawing performance then when it was new. So after several months of relentless persistence the owner finally said he would trade the saw for a chain saw I had.Įvery part (down to the last screw) was taken apart cleaned and inspected.
